This service was performed at Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem, on April 11, 2013, and was co-sponsored by the Society for Classical Reform Judaism. In this excerpt from the video of the Service: In the Majesty of Holiness, Cantor Tamar Heather Havilio, Head of Cantorial Studies, Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music, Hebrew Union College, Jerusalem, introduces us to the colorful and soulful lives and music of three major Reform Jewish composers. Some of the composers’ compositions are highlighted in her talk and in this worship service that was held at Hebrew Union College, Jerusalem, on April 11, 2103. The service was co-sponsored by the Society for Classical Reform Judaism.
A Festive Evening Service in the Classical Reform Heritage. This service was held in March, 2012, at the Hebrew Union College in Jerusalem. It was co-sponsored by the Society for Classical Reform Judaism, and was part of the Society’s Inaugural Institute on the Jerusalem campus. The service includes choral music, prayers and readings from the Union Prayer Book.

A Sabbath Eve Worship in the Tradition of Classical Reform Judaism
This first production in our new series of CD’s features a Sabbath Service from the Union Prayer Book – Sinai Edition, conducted by Rabbi Howard A. Berman, with music performed by Cantor Erik Contzius accompanied by choir and organ. The beautiful musical selections include both great historic masterpieces of the Reform repertoire, as well as newly composed choral works by today’s leading synagogue composers. A specially prepared booklet with the complete Prayer Book text of the program enables listeners to follow the Service as a personal worship experience. We know that you will find this program meaningful and that it will enable many people to experience the beauty and inspiration of the historic Reform worship traditions that we cherish.
